Hello! Sometimes a get on a kick, and just want to create and create on that same note until I have had my fill, which can take awhile. One of my current kicks is combining fruit and herbs in a cocktail. I combined mint and strawberry and blueberry and basil in these drinks. My next herb to transform into a drink is Thyme.
I have to be honest, I felt a little bit more safe with mint and basil. I use these herbs a lot more often. Thyme felt a little more risky, but I am really happy with how this drink turned out, and I hope you consider giving it a try!
Here’s the recipe:
1 cup sugar
8 Sprigs of Fresh Thyme
Splash of Vodka (optional)
First-Prepare the Thyme Syrup: Bring the water, sugar and thyme to a boil and stir until the water and sugar is combined fully. Then remove the thyme and cool.
Once cool, place thyme syrup in a blender along with about 8 sliced strawberries. Blend until smooth.
Finally, slice the remaining strawberries and combine with blended mixture. Serve over ice and garnish with a few more sprig of fresh thyme.
