Felt Shimmer Fish {with free template}

Okay, so I think my love for felt has been well established.  I have another cute little fish for you today–with another free template.  Stitch up one, stick a pin on the back and you’ve got the perfect addition to a gift, beach bag or purse.  I’m still on vacation, so once again, this is going to be short and sweet!

But first, another picture from our trip to the beach last year:

Supplies:
Template
Wool Felt
Embroidery Thread and Needle
Tulip Glam it Up Iron-On Crystals
Poly-Fil

  • Cut out the pieces from the template
  • Then, stitch the scales onto the top body piece with a backstitch.  Add three more layers of scales, with the stitches behind the previous row.
  • Pin the two body pieces together, with the top and bottom fin pieces between the body pieces.  Sew together with a running stitch, leaving a gap so you can fill it with poly-fil.
  • When the fish is stuffed, stitch it up!

Add a pin to the back and you are ready to go!

  4. Lovely! I’m going to make one or two over the weekend :)

  5. Love this fish! But the instructions don’t say that the scales are sewn to the front piece or when to sew on that piece with the scales attached to the two body pieces or when to add the crystals. Also the fins are not included with the template. I think I will be able to figure it out but more details would be helpful. Thanks for such a cute idea!

  6. So cute, you make beatiful things
